Kathy began her career as a classroom teacher. Over time she moved into social and emotional learning, where she saw firsthand what shifted student outcomes most: not curriculum, but the adults in the room. She sat with teachers who were burning out, and navigated the gap between the mission everyone believed in and the daily reality they were managing. One thing became undeniably clear: the biggest barrier to mission success was not funding or policy. It was the well-being of the adults doing the work.
